The hospitals are also recruiting AF ablation patients to participate in the clinical trial studies to evaluate the actual outcomes of the AI software. The outcomes of VX1 will be compared to standard ablation.

The VXI has received approval from FDA as a medical device and CE-marked by the European Union.Volta detailing about VX1 said that it is first of kind software that is commercially available to help clinicians address issues like high failure rates using  ablation for treating persistent, drug-resistant AF. The software analyses electrical signals and also the VXI identifies real time abnormalities encountered during the procedure.

Volta has initiated the international level, randomised controlled clinical trial to evaluate VX1’s effectiveness against the conventional anatomical ablation procedures. The trial will involve a number of patients and 25 sites. The results of the trail are expected to be released by 2024.
